A senior architect who designs the model and builds the platform.
- Principal and Enterprise Data Architect roles
- Healthcare and insurance data architecture
- Cloud data platform and lakehouse architecture
- Data architecture lead for delivery teams
I help organizations modernize complex data environments, align enterprise data models, and build cloud data platforms on Databricks, Snowflake and Azure. Twenty years of it, across healthcare, insurance, pharma, utilities and manufacturing.

KPMG's eDataMining product reported audit performance in near real time, but each client engagement took more than an hour to process. I redesigned the solution architecture with parallel ETL, table partitioning, rebuilt indexes and a star schema for the OLAP cubes, then volume-tested it with Microsoft at their lab.
Read the case studies →My work sits between business strategy and technology: understanding what stakeholders need, making architecture decisions I can defend, and helping teams deliver.
Conceptual, logical and physical models. OLTP in 3NF and OLAP in star and snowflake schemas, using Kimball and Inmon.

Seven-plus years of data architecture for a specialty property and casualty insurer.
I started in computer science and added an MBA in finance and marketing. That pairing still shapes how I work: every model I design has to answer a business question.
Over twenty years I have designed warehouses, lakehouses and analytics platforms for health insurers, a pharmacy-claims processor, a global manufacturer, a utility and an audit firm. I take a practical, hands-on approach, balancing enterprise standards with what teams can actually build and maintain.
Today I am most interested in what comes next: how well-governed enterprise data, semantic models and metadata can make AI applications and agents trustworthy.
AI is only as trustworthy as the data beneath it. These are the questions I am writing about.
Why semantic models, business definitions and metadata matter more once an agent is asking the questions.
